Revenge Fantasy Workshop

We are looking for a small group of volunteers to take part in generative workshops for a potential film project. We are only looking for women who experienced sexual abuse as children or in their teens.

Most importantly, we stress we only wish to work with people who have have worked through their trauma and are now in good mental health.

During the workshops, participants will be ask to discuss their experiences with other survivors. There will be an emphasis on exploring revenge fantasies as part of their personal journeys. The workshops are facilitated by a professional consultant psychiatrist. The themes arising from these workshops will be part of the development process for a potential film project.

The workshops will not be recorded but a researcher will be present to take notes. All notes derived from the workshop will be anonymised.

We anticipate participants taking part in 2x in-person workshops, lasting 2 hours each, including a break for refreshments.

Interested applicants should self-refer themselves for the workshops by emailing us with the following information:

  • Your Name

  • The city where you currently live

  • Provide brief details of how you worked through these traumatic experiences (eg therapy, peer support)

  • Name and address of your GP

  • Do we have your permission to contact your GP? (We would only do so if our psychiatrist considers that there is a serious and significant threat to your safety, or the safety of others.)

We regret that we are unable to work with anyone who is currently having therapy or receiving current treatment for their mental health.

Prospective workshop volunteers will be assessed by a professional consultant psychiatrist as part of a selection process, to ensure a duty of care to participants and ensure that engaging  in the workshops does not cause any harm to their mental health.

Selected participants will need to agree to a release form to ensure their consent to taking part in the workshops. We will cover travel expenses for selected candidates and accommodation costs if required.

We will also offer a honorarium of £300 for participating in both workshops.
